Arsenal fans loved Alexandre Lacazette's reaction to being substituted vs Fulham. Arsenal fans on Twitter have hailed Alexandre Lacazette for how he reacted to an Unai Emery decision that left supporters at the Emirates Stadium booing.
Having scored the goal which put the Gunners 2-1 up against Fulham on New Year's Day, Lacazette was replaced by Aaron Ramsey with 15 minutes to go.
Sections of the crowd at the Emirates jeered what they saw as a negative decision from the manager, but Lacazette refused to look downhearted and instead appeared to gee up his teamates and the crowd as he went off.
And supporters were soon proved wrong as Ramsey scored four minutes after being introduced to make it 3-1.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang later added a fourth, as the Gunners moved to within two points of forth-placed Chelsea.
"I understand the supporters," Emery said after the match, when asked to explain the booing.
"Tactically we thought in that moment we needed to change for more balance. Above all we know (Jean Michael) Seri is coming on and need a player close to him, not to let him play easily with the ball.
"Aaron Ramsey can do that and also help us in attack and scored. The reason is this. I need to do my work. And not maybe because every supporter can have a different opinion, tactically.
"But I need to do my work, Lacazette his work and he scored also. He helped us and it was a very positive reaction."
And that reaction was hailed by Gunners supporters.
Emery also said that he feels Ramsey is still committed to the club, despite appearing certain to leave at the end of the season.
"At the moment he is working with us and I think, yes," he said.
"He worked very well in Liverpool. Today he played 15 minutes and he scored. He helped us for confidence and to earn a good result. I want this focus from him when he is playing."
