But they could fall up short with Real Madrid set to ask for at least £100m and the Citizens not wanting to pay more than £80m.
Arsenal , Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with a swoop for the superstar, plus Juventus , Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain will be on alert if he does depart.
