Recently, Luke Kemp and Chad Keates attended the 13th biennial HAA (Herpetological Association of Africa) conference in Bonamanzi Game Reserve, Hluhluwe, Kwazulu Natal. The conference took place from 23-27 January 2017. This video forms part of a two part mini-series designed to showcase our experiences at the conference. This is a collection of some of the animals we managed to find and some of the herpetologists we managed to corner in front of the camera. Although we got some great herpetologists, unfortunately we did not have enough time to get all of the great herpetologists who attended the conference.

The Herp Files was created by Chad Keates and Luke Kemp. It was created with the intention of showing off the reptiles and frogs of Southern Africa. The videos include general information about each species with interesting facts thrown in between. It is our attempt to expose the beauty of South Africa's enormous herpetological diversity while having just a 'bit' of fun. This video focuses on the the cape cobra (Naja nivea), one of Southern Africa's most venomous snakes.

Last year we set off on our most ambitious herping adventure to date. The trip spanned eight days and over 3700km with us herping both the Western and Northern Cape. We found over 50 species of reptiles and frogs and this video series is dedicated to our best finds and our funniest moments. This is the third of four videos of our west coast trip. This video focusses on our last day in the Western Cape and our first day in the Northern Cape. This video contains the armadillo girdled lizard, many-horned adder and the Namaqua dwarf adder. On saturday the 19th of August we decided to try a new herping spot just outside of Grahamstown for a day trip. This video shows off all the animals we found and the coolest parts of our day.

At the beginning of 2018, Chad and Luke joined the Rhodes ZEML (Zoology and Entomology Molecular Lab) herpetological cross-country fieldtrip. The trip saw them adventuring throughout South Africa, in search of frogs and reptiles alike. The second video focuses on our time in Ndumo Game Reserve, in Northern Kwazulu Natal.
